Start in 1871 and zero difference. Players go where they get drafted.

If you start in 1918 the players already in the league will start on the team they were actually on in 1918 (the Real Team version). Example: Ruth is on the Red Sox
The players in the regular one would be on the team they are most associated with. Example: Ruth is a Yankee.
