Chart @ 150
With Fielder becoming the 150th entrant, I thought posting the chart of GC would be interesting.
What we see here, different from previous leagues, is a lack of scalloping downward. The plots are pretty consistent in their scatter pattern across time. There may be a few influences that result in this happening, but I think the biggest one is that we are about 15-20 entrants behind history. With fewer entrants that means fewer low scores. Without those lower scores creating distance in the chart, and establishing new floors, we have seen a consistent floor since the start of the HOF. We even see a narrowing of the numbers as we approach the 150th plot, however this may simply be randomness. We saw the same thing approaching plot 100, and then things scattered out back to a more usual distribution.
Our ratio of pitches to hitters in the HOF is right on target. There are 45 pitchers inducted. With 150 entrants we would have expected 46.
ADD: At 150 entrants, we would expect to have 10 active RL players in the HOF. With Prince Fielder's induction, there are 12.
