Class of 2095 Veterans Committee Selection: Agee

Tommie Agee was the 11th player selected in the 2051 draft. He was chosen by the Astros.

As an 18 year-old he broke in with a .318 average and 23 HR in 99 games.

Agee played through the 2072 season and collected 2339 hits (97th, two fewer than Al Rosen) with 483 HR (t-85th, Jim Ray Hart), for his career. He scored 1412 runs (67th) and drove in 1358 runs while stealing 229 stolen bases. He had a career slash line 289/353/530.

Agee battled injuries throughout his career, playing in 2170 games (86th) over his 21 year big league career.

In 2057 he appeared in 81 games and slashed 360/417/613 (npa OPS+ 173). He was healthy for the post season and knocked 3 HR in 10 games as he, and HOFer Kent Hrbek, led the Astros to WS victory.

Agee was a 6 time All Star who won 4 CF Gold Gloves. He enters the HOF at the age of 61.
