SCORESCHI - 6 STL - 3 Bitter rivals clashed at Scottrade Center and the visitors used a second period for the ages to crush the Blues magical start of the season. Eight goals were scored by the teams in the second stanza, five of the goals went the Black Hawk's way, including two PP goals and an PP assist by C Jonathan Toews who surprisingly ended up a -2 on the night.
MTL - 5 CGY - 6 This matchup may not inspire a rivalry like the Maple Leafs for the Canadiens, but don't tell the Flames that! 6 of the 9 penalties called were against the Flames and Montreal capitalized three times but still fell short against this inspired club. 18 y/o youngster C Sean Monahan (6.5b/8.0b) scored twice and D Chris Butler (7.0d/7.0d) had a PP tally and an assist ending with a +2 on the evening. LW Max Pacioretty (8.0b/8.0b) placed himself squarely in the scoring race with a hat trick including two PP goals.
OTT - 2 LAK - 0 G Craig Anderson (8.0b/8.0b) sparkled in a shutout performance, stopping 27 shots. RW Erik Condra (6.5d/6.5d) and C Jason Spezza (8.0d/8.0d) scored ES markers and each team squandered 5 power play opportunities in a chippy game.
