 Mr. Sutter,

I’ve compiled my Top 10 WHL Bantam draft eligible prospects from British Columbia. Obviously you will remember the names Boyle and Wandowhich from earlier discussions. Jordan Boyle is running away with the scoring title in the Vancouver AAA Bantam (12GP 18G 21A 39P), his winger Willie Buhr is keeping up on Boyle’s coattails with 34 points of his own in the same 12 games. After them there is a significant drop off to a couple of guys with 28 points. Elijah Dura is the tied with Buhr for second place in league goal scoring at 13 apiece. Dure is also leading all forwards in SHToI. I have to again point out that Dylan Bailey is still the most talented skater under 16 in BC, and his coaches tell me he has been getting better on the ice. He’s posted a modest 7-12-19 scoring line in his 11 games this season, and if he wasn’t leading the league is minor penalties I think his coaches would like to use him a whole lot more than his 14:57 AToI suggests.

The entire coastal region of BC has been seemingly wasting my time. Surge Marc is supposed to be a 1st round talent and is 15th in scoring with 8 goals and isn’t even that high in assists with just 11. Lucas Hart is leading the Coast in scoring and could grow into a decent bottom 6 forward in the WHL one day. His cousin, Joel Hart, is sitting at 6th in points in the league and his coaches say has the willingness the play that 200 foot game we like to see.
Wandowhich is surprisingly not leading the BC Interior in points, but his pergame averages are still on top. This league is deep with talent and I think a couple of the prospects are really going to go far. Chiu and Mapletoft are the top two defenders in the league and really look to make an impact as they are both top 5 in points from defenders and are #1 and #2 in the league in AToI. Mapletoft has the better offensive instincts but Chui is a really complete two-way defender. Brian Tapper (16-16-32) is leading the league in offense and has some of the best stickskills after Wandowhich.
