No, it's certainly not at the moment. But it should strive to be as much as possible IMO. The more real things (present and past) that can be put into the game the more choices users have. That includes real-world MLB and fictional players. More choices equals more ways for users to challenge themselves. I see that as a good thing.

Or, you know,
OOTP could do both. Have as accurate of the real-life rules as possible
and have fictionalized options as well. Everybody wins. Those who want as high a fidelity as possible win, and those who want other options win.
Not sure why things constantly seem to get reduced to a binary. either-or situation. Fight for both.
