Neither Lou Brock nor Orlando Cepeda had a good series, but the Cardinals proved to be too strong. The Red Sox showed some of the come back spirit of the Red Sox teams of the era, going down 3-0 in the series and winning the next two. But Dick Hughes' 2-hit, 9 strikeout performance in Game 6 brought the series win for the Cards.
