The Texas Rangers finally have 10 wins this season! They remain in New York for the third game of the series against the Yankees.

The Minnesota Twins have placed 2B Rod Carew on the DL with a torn meniscus in his knee. He is expected to miss 4-5 months.

Blomberg led off the bottom of the eighth with a single for the Yankees 10th hit of the game.

In the top of the ninth, with a runner on first and two out, Sparky Lyle replaced Kekich and got pinch hitter Angel Mangual to ground out to end the game.
