Powell put the Orioles on the board in the top of the first with an RBI double.

The Orioles loaded the bases on 3 walks in the top of the third with one out. But Hand got Johnson to ground into the 6-4-3 to retire the side.

The Rangers loaded the bases with two out in the bottom of the third. Howard then put Texas in the lead with a 2-run single. Maddox added an RBI single as well. Dent made it a 4-run innning with his own RBI single. 9 men came to the plate for the Rangers in the innning.

After three: Texas 4 Baltimore 1.

Rettenmund led off the top of the fourth with his first home run of the season. Baylor singled to run his hit streak to 21 games. Grich followed with an RBI single that stretched his hit streak to 13 games.

Biittner singled in the bottom of the fourth to record his 50th hit of the season. Burroughs brought a run home with a sacrifice fly. Harrah followed with an RBI triple. Howard added an RBI single. Maddox singled to give the Rangers 10 hits for the game.

Grich hit a solo home run in the top of the sixth.

Roric Harrison took the mound for the Orioles in the bottom of the sixth.

After six: Texas 7 Baltimore 4.

Hand ended the top of the seventh by striking out Etchebarren for his 30th K of the season.

With a runner on first and one out in the top of the eighth, Bill Gogolewski replaced Hand on the mound for the Rangers.

A perfect ninth from Gogolewski brought the Orioles 10 game winning streak to an end.

Final score: Texas 7 Baltimore 4.
