The Rangers are in Baltimore for a weekend series against the Orioles. Baltimore has the best record in all of baseball. The Orioles just saw an 8 game winning streak come to an end against Kansas City. Baltimore is 10-2 in the month of June. The Orioles took 2 out of 3 against the Rangers in Texas at the beginning of the month. Baltimore leads the league in batting average, OBP, stolen bases, runs against, starters ERA, bullpen ERA and defensive efficiency. The Orioles are third in the league in runs scored. Bosman struck out Bumbry to begin the bottom of the first for his 40th K of the season.

Etchebarren put the Orioles on the board in the bottom of the second with an RBI double. Bumbry added an RBI single to run his hit streak to 14 games. Grich brought in the inning's third run with a sacrifice fly.

With a runner on first and two out in the bottom of the seventh, Paul Lindblad replaced Bosman on the mound for the Rangers.

In the bottom of the eighth with the bases empty and two out, Lindblad left the game with an injured shoulder and was replaced by Mike Garman.
