Montreal will be at home to host the Dallas Stars (11-7-9). Tonight will be the 1st meeting of the season between the 2 clubs.

The 1st period ends in a 0-0 draw with the shots in favour of Montreal 7-6 despite a 3-1 advantage in PPs for the Stars.

Montreal gets the 1-0 goal at 5:51 of the 2nd when C Patrick Atkins deposits LW Randolph Lott's pass into the cage.
