The Rangers committed 2 errors in the bottom of the first and Johnson scored to give the Indians a 1-0 lead. Chambliss then hit an RBI single. McCraw had a run-scoring single as well.

In the bottom of the third, Biittner got an RBI on a fielder's choice grounder. Harrah then extended his hit streak to 16 games with an RBI single. Dunning ended the frame by striking out Howard for his 80th K of the season.

In the bottom of the third, Brohamer surpassed the 20 RBI mark on the season by smashing a 3-run homer.

After three: Cleveland 6 Texas 2.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Indians loaded the bases with nobody out but Chambliss had to leave the game with a back injury and was replaced by Andre Thornton. Nettles went down on strikes for the first out. But then Leon hit a 2-run single. McCraw then surpassed 20 RBI on the season with a 3-run homer for the Indians 10th hit of the game.

In the top of the fifth, Burroughs hit an RBI single. Howard also brought one home with a single.

After six: Cleveland 11 Texas 4.

In the top of the seventh, Nelson got his 30th stolen base of the season. And scored on an error.

Jim Panther took the mound for the Rangers in the bottom of the seventh. Rain began to fall in the bottom of the seventh.

The rain stopped in the top of the ninth. But immediately came right back. With a runner on first and two out, Jim Crawford took the mound for the Indians and struck out Harrah to end the game.

Final score: Cleveland 11 Texas 5.
