The Montreal Canadiens (29-28-11) are on the road to visit the Detroit Red Wings (42-21-6) at the Little Caesar's Place. Montreal is a dismal 1-6-0 against the Wings including a 4-2 loss the last time the teams met in Detroit.

Montreal go up 1-0 at 1:19 of the 1st period with LW Emile Boudreau's 17th goal of the season. Boudreau tips C Dean Casey's shot with the 2nd assist going to RW Joey Mariani. Montreal goes up 2-0 with LW Randolph Lott's 6th goal of the year. Lott finished off a scramble in front of the Red Wings net with assists going to RW Joey Mariani and RD Colton Knoll at 3:23. Montreal extends the lead to 3-0 at 5:57 with C Dean Casey's 27th of the season. Casey's shot from out side the right circle is assisted by LW Emile Boudreau and C Patrick Atkins.
