Breaking News - MLB Draft Date Changed

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred has decided to change the date of this years MLB draft to Dec. 4th. We aren't sure if this will be a concrete draft date, or if it will change every year. Mr. Manfred said the reason for the change was two fold. "First, with the MLB cutting minor league levels down to AAA and AA only, with no short season A ball or anything, there wasn't a real need to have a draft during the summer, because for a lot of those players, there might not be anywhere to go. Second, this gets us in tune with all the other pro sports who have their draft after the season, instead of before it."

Also of note (which I might have mentioned earlier), with only 2 levels of minors, the need for a 35 round draft is not there anymore. Mr. Manfred said going forward, the draft will be 10 rounds.
