Donnie Marshall and Gordie Howe score 40 seconds apart to break open a scoreless draw in the 2nd period of game three. Detroit adds another for their 2nd three goal period of the series. Bobby Hull and Frank Mahovlich cut the lead to one, but Marshall would get another and the Wings score an insurance empty net goal. 5-2 Detroit. Toronto comes out hard in game four. They get 15 shots in the first, but find themselves trailing 2-1. Late in the 2nd, Gordie Howe gets a shorthanded goal, that pretty much ended any hope of a Leafs comeback.
