April 20th-April 26th

April 20th, 2018: Before the start of the Indians series, I reaclled Pedro Araujo. I have a waiver claim in place, so this will probably be a short stint.

We opened the series hosting the Indians with Josh Tomin (1-1, 3.60 ERA, 0.85 WHIP) taking on Mike Wright (0-0, 1.50 ERA, 0.94 WHIP). We scored 4 in the 8th in the 7-2 opening victory.

Wright went 5, allowing 6 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks, and recording 5 strikeouts. Aruajo, Bruce Rondon, and Miguel Castro earned holds before we broke it open. Those three and Mychal Givens all pitched an inning with a strikeout, while Rondon and Castro allowed hits.

Adam Jones went 2-for-4 with a 2-run homer and 2 runs scored. Manny Machado hit a pinch hit 3-run homer off Cody Allen in the 8th. Jonathan Schoop was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and run scored. Caleb Joseph was a perfect 4-for-4 with a run scored and double. Trey Mancini was 1-for-4 with a double, run scored, and RBI.

I earned the achievemnt "Hit Machine" for Joesph's performance.

Ryan Braun hit for the cycle in a 5-4 Brewers win over Miami.

April 21st, 2018: Mark Trumbo will begin a rehab assignment in Norfolk. I'm in no rush to get him back...

Pedro Alvarez cleared waivers, and was outrighted to AAA.

The struggling Corey Kluber (1-0, 6.10 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) took on Alex Cobb (0-0, 5.40 ERA, 1.40 WHIP) in game two of the series. We scored 4 in the 8th again, and took this one 7-2 to improve our record to 9-13.

Tim Beckham left with a sore thumb, but should be better after a day of rest tomorrow. He was 1-for-2 with a double. His replacement, Jonathan Schoop was 1-for-2 with 2 runs scored.

Cobb went 7 strong with 7 hits, 2 runs, and 7 strikeouts. Mychal Givens and Richard Bleier earned holds before we expanded our lead.

Mike Yastrzemski was 1-for-3 with his first career home run. Chris Davis was 2-for-4 with a homer, double, 2 runs, and 3 RBI's. Trey Mancini was 2-for-4 with a 2-run homer. Anthony Santander was 1-for-3 with a solo homer and got hit by a pitch.

April 22nd, 2018: We looked to win our third straight with Andrew Cashner (0-3, 5.31 ERA, 1.57 WHIP) taking on Mike Clevinger (1-1, 4.09 ERA, 1.09 WHIP). 7 is our lucky number, as we won the series with a 7-4 victory and would look for the sweep tomorrow.

Cashner went 5, allowing 6 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, and recorded 3 strikeouts. Pedro Araujo allwoed a run in 1.1 innings with a hit, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Darren O'Day allowed 2 (1 earned) in 0.1 innings with a walk and strikeout. Richard Bleier earned a hold, and Brad Brach struck out 2 in the 9th for the save.

Anthony Santander hit his 7th homer, and was 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and RBI. Adam Jones was 1-for-4 with 2 steals, a run, and RBI. Caleb Joseph was 3-for-4 with a solo shot and 2 total RBI's. Ruben Tejada was 3-for-5 with 2 RBI's.

I earned the achievement "Batting Around" after the 4 run 3rd.

April 23rd, 2018: I claimed LHP Ennry Romero off waivers from the Nationals, and I hope he'll have more sucess for my Orioles team then he did for my Marlins team. He's got a starter's arsenal, 4 dependable pitches, but not much stamina. He can hit high 90s and grace 100 if he puts all his effort in it. Aruajo is back to AAA.

Caleb Joseph was named player of the week, going 10-for-15 with a homer and 2 RBI's.

We're up to 22nd in the Power Rankings, as our record improved to 10-13.

We looked to finish off the always difficult 4-game sweep with Dylan Bundy (1-1, 1.23 ERA, 0.91 WHIP) facing Carlos Carrasco (1-2, 3.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP). We couldn't pull it off, allowing a run in the 8th and 9th to drop the finale 4-3.

Bundy went 6, allowing 5 hits, 2 runs, a walk, and 5 strikeouts. Enny Romero made his Orioles debut, 2 innings with a hit, run, and 4 strikeouts. Brach got the loss, 0.2 innings with a hit, run, and strikeout.

Chris Davis was 1-for-3 with a walk, solo homer, and 2 total RBI's. Adam Jones was 3-for-5 with a double and run scored. Manny Machado was 2-for-3 with a run scored and walk.

Tampa comes to town next, and we'll face Blake Snell (1-1, 3.60 ERA), Yonny Chirinos (0-0, 16.20 ERA), and Jacob Faria (2-0, 3.22 ERA).

April 24th, 2018: I sent Gabriel Ynoa to AAA for a rehab assignment.

We opened the Tampa series with Kevin Gausman (3-1, 3.96 ERA, 1.28 WHIP) taking on the young southpaw Blake Snell (1-1, 3.60 ERA, 1.55 WHIP). We opened the series with a 4-2 win, despite trying to blow it in the 9th.

Gausman allwoed just 1 hit and 4 runs in 6 innings with 5 strikeouts. Mychal Givens, Darren O'Day, and Brad Brach got holds, beofre Enny Romero earned the save. Givens struck out the side in the 7th, while Brach allowed a hit and run with a strike out in the 9th before Romero finished the game.

Jonathan Schoop and Caleb Joseph went 1-for-3 with a solo homer, walk, and strikeout. Anthony Santander was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Manny Machardo was 1-for-4 with a double and RBI. Mike Yastrzemski was 2-for-3 with a walk.

April 25th, 2018: We looked to continue our nice stretch with Mike Wright (1-0, 1.96 ERA, 1.13 WHIP) facing Yonny Chirinos (0-0, 16.20 ERA, 2.40 WHIP). We got 2 in the 8th to take a 5-3 lead we wouldn't give up.

Wright went 5.2 with 7 hits, 3 runs (2 earned), a walk, and a strikeout. Mychal Givens got the win, going 1.2 with a hit and 2 strikeouts. Darren O'Day notched the save, a perfect 9th with a strikeout.

Trey Mancini was 2-for-4 with a solo homer. Tim Beckham was 1-for-3 with 2 runs, an RBI, a homer, and walk. Jonathan Schoop was 1-for-4 with a 2-run homer. Craig Gentry was 1-for-3 with a double and RBI.

April 26th, 2018: We looked to complete the sweep, with former Ray Alex Cobb (1-0, 3.75 ERA, 1.17 WHIP) facing Jacob Faria (2-0, 3.22 ERA, 1.25 WHIP). The Rays got a run in the 9th to take a 1-0 lead, but we battled back to tie it. It took until the 14th for more scoring, and they scored 5 to take the finale 6-1.

Cobb went 5.2 innings with 4 hits, a walk, and 3 strikeouts. Romero allowed the run in the 9th, getting just 1 out and allowing 2 hits. In his 4th inning, Bleier allowed all 5 runs. He went 3.2 with 7 hits, 3 walks, and a strikeout, but I can't get too mad at him and his 15 stamina...

Adam Jones was 2-for-6 with a steal. Yastrzemski was 1-for-5 with an RBI and walk. Chris Daivs was 1-for-4 with 2 walks.

Whit Merrifield extended his hit streak to 20 games. The Royals utility mand is hitting .380 to start the season.

We get to stay home, and host the Tigers for three. We'd see Francisco Liriano (1-1, 3.91 ERA), Jordan Zimmermann (2-1, 5.09 ERA), and Matt Boyd (0-3, 3.81 ERA).
