			The umbrellas came out during the Atlanta-San Francisco contest at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. 
 
The Atlanta Braves got a stellar performance from pitcher Ron Reed, who handcuffed the San Francisco offense en route to a 4-2 win at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. Reed got the win, improving to 10-8. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 9 innings. Reed allowed 2 earned runs. 
 
Sonny Jackson, who leads the NL in triples with 10, aided the Atlanta cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 4. 
 
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Jackson. 
 
6' 6" Kingman took equally tall RHP Ron Reed deep as the Giants tried to claw back in the 9th.
