The Cardinals had to overcome a fine performance from New York pitcher George H Stone to grab a 3-2 win at Shea Stadium (NL). Stone allowed 1 earned run over 8.1 innings. Al Hrabosky was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 15 of 16 save opportunities. The Cardinals bumped their record to 34-34 with this latest triumph.
