The Cubs long 18 game home stand continues with a four game series against the worst team in baseball. The Boston Beaneaters. The Beaneaters have lost seven straight and are the only team in either league to still have less than ten wins on the season. The Cubs are so far 8-4 on this home stand. This is the first meeting this season between these two teams.

Tenney led off the game with a single to extend his hit streak to 12 games. Two outs later, Brain would bring him home with a double.

In the bottom of the first, the Cubs loaded the bases with nobody out. Schulte singled to score two and give the Cubs the lead while picking up his 20th RBI of the season. Steinfeldt added an RBI single. Then Sheckard walked and again the bases were loaded with nobody out. Tinker grounded out to first to bring home Schulte. Kling brought home Steinfeldt with a sacrifice fly. The Cubs batted around the order and put up a crooked number.

In the bottom of the third, Tinker delivered a run-scoring double. Tinker then swiped third for his 10th stolen base of the season. Kling then brought Tinker home with a sacrifice fly.

After three: Chicago 7 Boston 1.

In the bottom of the fifth, odd number innings continued to favor the Cubs as Kling got a run-scoring single.

Dolan got an RBI single in the top of the sixth.

The Cubs answered in the bottom of the sixth on a run-scoring single from Steinfeldt.

After six: Chicago 9 Boston 2.

Mike O'Neill took the mound for the Beaneaters in the bottom of the seventh.

In the bottom of the eighth, Schulte added an RBI single. One hit later and the Cubs had the bases loaded with nobody out. Sheckard hit a grounder to first but beat out the double play as Tom Walsh came home to score. A Kling walk loaded the bases with two out and then Schulte scored on a passed ball. Brown walked to load the bases again before Evers grounded back to the pitcher to finally end the inning. For the second time in the game, the Cubs had batted around the order.

In the top of the ninth, Strobel was hit by a pitch and had to leave the game. He was replaced by Ernie Diehl. One out later the game was over.

The Cubs pounded out 13 hits in the win.

Final score: Chicago 12 Boston 2.
