The Giants got a big at-bat from left fielder Gary Thomasson. For the game, Thomasson went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave San Francisco a 5-2 lead.
Kingman homered off RHP Randy Moffitt in a late inning comeback attempt that fell short.
