			Atlanta right fielder Jim Wynn made his presence felt in the 9-3 Braves triumph over the New York Mets. Wynn was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Phil Niekro got the win, improving to 9-5. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 6. Atlanta is now 38-47, New York 42-46. 
 
Wynn had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the fifth inning, when he hit a run-scoring double. The Braves went on to win. 
 
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Wynn said after the game. 
 
Kingman homered off RHP Phil Niekro late in the contest.
