06/21/1977 - Padres Lose 6-1 Despite Kingman's 4-for-4 Day
Spirited fans at Jack Murphy Stadium greeted the San Diego Padres for their clash with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Pittsburgh Pirates got a stellar performance from pitcher Larry Demery, who handcuffed the San Diego offense en route to a 6-1 win at Jack Murphy Stadium. Pittsburgh is now 27-39, San Diego 35-38.
Mike Easler, who is tied for 5th in the NL in doubles with 18, aided the Pittsburgh cause with a 2-run single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Easler
Kingman hit a solo shot off RHP Larry Demery.
