The Chicago Cubs had to overcome a big game from St. Louis center fielder George Hendrick to leave Wrigley Field with a 6-5 victory. Hendrick was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. St. Louis's current losing streak is now 4 games.

The Cubs got a big at-bat from shortstop Rudy Meoli. For the game, Meoli was 1-2 with a triple. In the bottom of the 12th, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring triple.
