09/26/1978 - Pirates Bang Out 7-4 Win Versus Chicago
The Pittsburgh Pirates topped the Chicago Cubs, 7-4, with center fielder Omar Moreno playing a big role. Moreno was 4-5 with 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Pirates in the win. Will McEnaney notched his 8th save in 10 chances. The Pirates now have a mark of 76-82.
The Pirates got a big at-bat from right fielder Dave Parker. For the game, Parker was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 18th home run of the season gave Pittsburgh a 7-4 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Moreno told the Pittsburgh Gazette.
Kingman homered off LHP Dave Hamilton.
