For some reason, the db_news file isn't loaded correctly in either save. We think it may have something to do with your startup options, since it's not happening to everyone. Can you tell us exactly which options you start with, i.e. everything from naming your game up to the Set Up Your Manager screen, and any starting edits you might be making?
