The Pittsburgh Pirates bested the New York Mets by a score of 6-4, with shortstop Vance Law getting the main credit. On the day, Law went 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Pirates. The Pirates bumped their record to 57-50 with this latest triumph.
Law had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 0-2 curveball from Terry Leach, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Pirates a 6-3 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Law.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Law said.
