In the bottom of the first, Burroughs hit an RBI double. Mincher followed with a two run triple. McMullen mishandled a Billings grounded and Mincher scored.

In the top of the second, Torborg hit a three run homer.

In the bottom of the fourth, Maddox got an RBI single. Burroughs did the same.

Tom Murphy took the mound for the Angels in the bottom of the fifth.

After six: Texas 6 California 3.

Dave Sells took the mound for the Angels in the bottom of the seventh.

In the bottom of the eighth, with runners at first and second and one out, Mel D Queen took the mound for the Angels and immediately walked Harrah to load the bases. Nelson hit a run-scoring single. Burroughs grounded into the 6-2 for the second out. Mincher then flew to leftto end the inning.

The Rangers won the game with a 14 hit attack.

Final score: Texas 7 California 3.
