Hart Hits His Way to Rookie of the Year Award:
What a season it was for Marshall's Jim Ray Hart in this new star's first year in the American League. He put together a year that earned him the 2027 Rookie of the Year Award.
The 22-year-old third baseman crunched some good numbers with a .312 batting average and a .396 on-base percentage to go with his 59 home runs, 146 RBIs and 129 runs scored.
He received 138 first place votes out of a possible 146. Earl Averill of the Drake Bulldogs finished second in voting with 8 first place votes, while Nick Swisher of the Texas Tech Red Raiders finished third.
