Today is the third game in the series in Cleveland between the Yankees and the Indians. In the first two games combined, the Yankees out-hit the Indians 29-8.

In the top of the first, Gehrig belted a two-run homer 351 feet.

In the top of the second, Meusel delivered a two-out RBI double.

In the bottom of the second, Neis put the Indians on the board with an RBI single.

In the top of the third, the Yankees loaded the bases with two out. Collins worked the count full and then watched ball four go by to get an RBI on a free pass. Pipgras then flew to left to retire the side.

After three: New York 4 Cleveland 1.

In the top of the fourth, Ruth hit an RBI single.

In the bottom of the fifth, Hodapp put some life into the Indians with an RBI single.

In the bottom of the sixth, Fonseca hit an RBI single of his own and the Indians were back in the game.

After six: New York 5 Cleveland 3.

In the top of the eighth, Willis Hudlin took the mound for the Indians. Pipgras picked up a much-needed RBI with a sacrifice fly.

In the bottom of the eighth, Burns answered with a two-out RBI single.

In the top of the ninth, with runners at the corners and two out, Hudlin was charged with a very costly balk, allowing Combs to score from third. Dugan also took advantage, hitting an RBI single.

The two teams combined for 27 hits in the contest.

Final score: New York 8 Cleveland 4.
