Report from OL teams in D358.
No, we didn't have an OL championship in D358, but thought I would give an "end-of-season" update, anyway.
There were three OL teams in D358, and these were their records against other OL teams:
Cary Southpaws-OL: 0-0
Kansas Rangers-OL: 13-6
Weston Pointe Caspers-OL: 6-13
So there wasn't an OL championship, but there should be next season, with the two gold teams moving up and none of the current OL teams moving down.
The real surprise is that the OL contingent actually held up decently against the whales. In the AL central, Cary Southpaws and Milwaukee Guilt Trip tied with identical 99-63 records. They met in a single deciding game, with the winner guaranteed to have home team advantage at least until the Championship series, and the loser hosting the wild card game.
The Southpaws lost a close one that Milwaukee won with a rally in the top of the ninth inning, and so Southpaws went to the wild card game, which they won. In the next round, the Southpaws and Milwaukee went to a deciding fifth game, which unfortunately Milwaukee won, and they ended up losing in the league championship series.
Over in the NL, the Kansas Rangers also did quite well, ending with a 92-70 record, good for the second wild card position. Unfortunately, they lost in the wild card game.
Even the Caspers did decently, considering it was their first time in Diamond league, ending with a 79-83 record.
Next season should be fun in diamond!
[Note: I actually thought I had posted this last evening, then I saw that it was just preview... I know now that only three teams made it in to same league. ]
