Game crashes and forces pc to reboot
OOTP playing along in 3d. When the crash occurs I usually hear a slight click, screen goes black, can still hear game sounds, within a few seconds the pc reboots. IE it does not crash to desktop, instead a hard crash all the way to reboot.
Been having this issue since moving to a new PC 2 weeks ago. So only happened on the latest OOTP build. I'm not sure how many games I may have played on this build on my old pc. Could be it was only 5 or so and never crashed there due to time? Who knows?
System.. Acer PO3-600, i5-9400
Win 10 64 bit 1903, build 18362.900
32 gig ram
1060ti card 6 gig video ram
pcie 500 gig ssd ~350 gig open
I did just enable trace mode but, if the pc reboots will that file be saved and viewable in the debug folder?
In any case what I've had so far...
It does not do it all of the time. I've played 5 or 6 games in a row with no issue, then out of the blue it crashes.
I was running sound through a Steinberg UR242 to krk monitoring speakers. To eliminate that as a cause I went back to my logitech pc speakers and had a run of 5 or 6 games without issue but, that just ended with a hard crash to reboot. Over these games I used the default sound files. With no crashes I tried my mod sound files with no issues for 2 games but just had the crash on the logitech speakers and the modded sounds.
So I'll go back to trying the game without modded sounds and see if it is indeed the cure. Maybe it's catching on one of the files, explaining being able to get through a few games before crashing? I don't know, just thinking things through.
Mostly posting to get an idea if this hard crash will still leave me with a debug file intact? And to establish a history of what has been happening since getting the new pc as I try to track down the cause.
Also curious if anyone else has had a "crash to reboot" instead of to desktop? I don't think I've read anyone here posting that.
Thanks for reading, will report back it I get another crash.
