Another fun tidbit, he was the first infielder to break up a double steal, cutting off the catchers throw to second and proceed to throw the runner out at home.

Wow. I thought that may have been an exaggeration. It makes sense that his nickname was Dandelion. He must have always been looking around on the ground for one to pick just as the ball was hit towards him.
I honestly remember someone on my team picking dandelions in the outfield when I was in Coach Pitch league as a kid.
