For once the Magpies did not fold in the final week. They won the first 2 games of the series against BRD and I had Pedro Martinez up for the 3rd game which, if won, would clinch the division. But both the team and Pedro were on 11 game winning streaks and the Game could not resist dealing me a crushing loss, 10-0. Both teams swept the final 3 game series, so I ended up winning the division by 2 games with a team record 116 wins. Sadly, for the BRD, they blew a 5 run lead and lost the wild card game. Walter Johnson gave up 2 in the 8th and Bob Feller came on board to add fuel to the raging fire and gave up 3 more runs to make it 5-5. Satchel Paige blew the save in the 9th after BRD scored 1 in the bottom of the 8th.
So, I am pleased to come from 9.5 games behind to win the division against a strong team. Going forward, I am saving all my PP as I believe prices have further to fall for most likely additions. The AH is dying right on schedule! Because of this slow death spiral, it is difficult to flip cards for profit and even the value of packs won in tournaments and twitch drops is declining. Not only that, but it is getting really hard to win iron and bronze quick tournaments as less committed players move on.
