Well, no pressure here:
Unsurprisingly, Texas is considered the next-best team in the AL, their 15+ year playoff drought may finally be over.
Here's the opening day roster:
C: K.Ruiz, Jeffers
1B: Y.Alvarez
2B: Lux
SS: Widmar
3B: Witt Jr.
IF: DeLeon, Kirkley
OF: Torkelson, Cedillo, Fabian, J.Diaz
DH: N.Clark
SP: McClanahan, Anglin, Little, Leiter, Aparicio
MR: Johns, Money, Godwin, Ashby
SU: Filby, Espino, Alvarado
CL: De La Cruz
So Kirkley makes the team as nobody else can play 2B. He's an on-base machine, although he probably won't play much. DeLeon makes the team as the backup SS/3B. Unfortunately Luis Berdin gets to go back to Durham as Jhon Diaz is out of options and actually is a better all-around player. Considered keeping Chris Sharp up but Tork can fill it at 1B when Alvarez needs a day off.
Aparicio won the 5th starter job over Johns, who will pitch in long relief. I'm not sold on Blake Money, he wasn't that impressive despite his 80 stuff last year but I'm going to give him another go-round, he'll fetch something good should we decide to deal him as Cole Patten deserves to be with the big club and it's probably time for Alec Sachais as well.
