it's a hastily thought out feature that never gets re-examined, which is what happens with almost all features nowadays. it doesn't work that well, it doesn't work horrifically or breaks the game, but it doesn't add immersion because you can tell it's just like 5 or 6 checkboxes and not a true system.
but it's been like this for years and no time is spent year to year on features like these, owners, attendance, financials, etc that all sort of work together
