Had a difficult time locating an acceptable bowl of migas today, so, based on our travel secretaries recommendation, I grabbed an Uber and headed to the
Iron Rooster in
Canton (about 14 minutes from the park, tolls included) and ended up with
Crab Hash instead – and, if I’m being honest (and why wouldn’t I be), it was amazing –
lump crab, home fries, bacon, some eggs, some asparagus, a chipotle hollandaise, and some Old Bay sprinkled in… I’m risking our new (almost) streak here, I know… but, when in Baltimore do as
McNutty does…
11 of 162: Marco Gonzales (1-0, 2.57) @ Cole Hamels (0-0, 0.00)
Win, 9-3.
Comfortable. That’s how this one should be described. Extremely comfortable, like
insanely high thread count comfortable after a 4-run 9th put us up by 6…
Joc exploded with a 5 RBI day on 4 for 5 hitting (3 singles and a double),
Fletch hit a 2-run ding dong,
Kyle Lewis went 3 for 5 with a couple of runs, and
Bobby Dalbec managed to plate twice and drew three walks.
Hamels struggled for Baltimore – 5 earned over 4.2 innings – while
Marco was serviceable in a gutsy 6.2 inning performance where
Servais got caught rubbernecking some east coast birdies in the crowd and failed to yank him early enough in the 7th.
Elsewhere: Hotlanta’s
Ronald Acuna Jr went 3 for 5 with 2 jacks, 5 RBI, and 3 runs for the Braves as they continued to play with some real verve and defeated the Miami Fins by a score of 8-4 for the second day in a row. I mean, the wins, not necessarily the score. Atlanta is now 8-3, while Miami is off to a dismal 2-9 start to the 2021 campaign. And it’s been the offense where they rank 15th in runs, AVG, OBP, OPS, and wOBA that has held Miami back. Well, that and poor management at, literally, every level.
Record: 8-3
