In the top of the first, Mejias got himself a two-run homer that measured 326 feet.
In the bottom of the first, Thomas knocked in a run with a double. Hicks followed with a two-run triple to give the Mets the lead.
In the top of the second, Spangler gave the Colt .45's the lead back with a two-out two-run triple. Mejias brought Spangler home with a single.
In the bottom of the third, Chacon led off with a 308 foot homer. Thomas tied the game with a 312 foot solo home run.

In the bottom of the fourth, following a lead off single, George Brunet took the mound for the Colt .45's.
In the top of the fifth, with a runner on first and one out, Sherman Jones took the mound for the Mets.
In the top of the sixth, Mejias broke the tie with a two-out RBI double.
In the bottom of the sixth, with runners at first and second and one out, Bobby Shantz took the mound for the Colt .45's and got McCarver to ground into the inning-ending double play.
After six: Houston 6 New York 5.
In the bottom of the seventh, Chacon tied the game with a 281 foot solo home run, his second round-tripper of the game. Besides giving up that home run, Shantz struck out the side.
In the top of the eighth, Craig Anderson took the mound for the Mets.
In the bottom of the eighth, Jim Umbricht took the mound for the Colt .45's. Neal gave the Mets the lead with an RBI triple. Neal then scored from third when Amalfitano bungled a McCarver grounder. The Mets went on to load the bases with two out. Bouchee then came home from third on a balk to close out the scoring.
The two teams combined for 21 hits in the contest.
Final score: New York 9 Houston 6.
