Preview – Los Angeles Canaries

  • MANAGER: Tommy Lasorda
  • HOME PARK: Avalon Park
  • TOP POSITION PLAYER: N/R
  • TOP PITCHER: Roger Clemens (4)
  • TOP PROSPECT: P Clayton Kershaw (7)
  • 26TH MAN: Francisco Lindor

Another super squad, and the West should be among the most hotly-contested divisions in the competition. It looks likely that the Canaries will need a few years to hit their straps, but in the meantime they have Clemens, Kershaw and Hubble to limit the amount of runs they’ll be chasing. When it does peak, this is a beast of a lineup with Piazza, Griffey jr, Schmidt and Foxx sure to give the spectators many souvenirs in the years to come. Lindor as their 26th man is a godsend, as SS was one position they looked a bit weak at. Now only 2B seems thin, where I presume Randolph and Gardner will platoon. If that’s their worst combo, they are doing OK.
