RE post 54 great write up. Super.

I was in a league once where the commissioner would post stories like that. His took the format of a news article rather than a live interview. Anyway, when the story was about one of our teams, we'd write an amplifying or rebuttal story.

I had taken over a team where Casey Stengel was the manager and he wrote a story about Stengel's job being on the line. I wrote a rebuttal that Stengel said he wasn't worried about his job because he hadn't yet made the mistake of being 70.

My current GM (Anne Bonny) is the result of a ruling by that commissioner. The manager was just for show, a name for his articles, and I wanted Jose Gasper to manage the Treasure Island Pirates. He said no, had to be a real manager from the era being played.

So with the idea the Pirates should be run by a real pirate I have Anne Bonny now.
