Tonight is the second game in the series in Texas between the Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles. The Rangers won the series opener, scoring in double digits for the third time in four games.

Kansas City Royals SP Kevin Appier will miss five days due to a dead arm.

Boston Red Sox SP Danny Darwin will miss nine months due to a torn labrum in his shoulder.

In the top of the second, Gomez hit a 359 foot three-run dinger.

In the top of the third, Palmeiro brought home a run with a single. A Ripken two-out single scored one as well.

After three: Baltimore 5 Texas 0.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Rangers loaded the bases with two out and Greer made it a one-run game with a 436 foot grand slam. The Rangers then reloaded the bases with two out before Clark grounded to short to end the inning.

In the top of the fifth, Palmeiro belted a two-run home run 408 feet. Baines unload on a a solo homer that measured 423 feet.

In the top of the sixth, McLemore increased the Orioles lead with an RBI double.

After six: Baltimore 9 Texas 4.

In the top of the seventh, Devereaux tagged a Rogers changeup for a 367 foot three-run blast. With the bases empty and one out, Jay Howell took the mound for the Rangers. The Orioles scored another run on a McLemore two-out single. Sabo added a run-scoring single as well. The Orioles then loaded the bases with two out. Ripken then knocked in all three with a double. With a runner on second and two out, Rick Honeycutt took the mound for the Rangers and finally got the third out to end the eight-run inning.

In the bottom of the seventh, Mark Williamson took the mound for the Orioles.

In the top of the eighth, the Orioles scored one on a McLemore two-out three-bagger.

The Orioles out-hit the Rangers 22-6 in the rout.

Final score: Baltimore 18 Texas 4.
