Bonds Derailed On Way To Record

I started a league to play 1951 to Bonds retirement (with no previous stats in the game) to see what Mays, Aaron, and Bonds could do with career home runs. I've never had anyone break even Ruth's record.

So Bonds entered 2005 with 665 home runs and his own record within reach, still good offensive ratings. I checked at the end of the season. Cleveland paid him $27 million for the year to be a PH. They started Coco Crisp, 2.5 stars overall instead of Bonds 4.0 stars in LF due to Bonds LF rating being 5 and Crisp's being 15. (These are end of season ratings... I'm not sure what they were early in the year. Due to aging Bonds may have been higher.)

Bonds is a FA and I may sign him myself so he'll get some playing time. Can't figure out why Cleveland didn't start Bonds and sub for him later.
