St. Lucia Association of Baseball – the Soufrière Brutes
The St. Lucia Association of Baseball (SLAB) is an independent baseball league that operates in the Caribbean on the island nation of St. Lucia. Its inaugural season will be contested in 2021 and consist of twelve teams split into two divisions of 6. The league plays a 96-game schedule (60 games in division, 36 games against the other division) that culminates with the 7-game Island Series contested between each division winner to crown a SLAB champion. Foreign players on each club’s active roster are limited to 4 (2 each for Pitchers & Hitters, respectively) and enter the league as Amateur Free Agents each season. The international pool is primarily limited to Aruba, Curacao, Grenada, Martinique, Trinidad & Tobago, and Micronesia with ~4% of random origin.
Each club has one development club housed in the Lucian Developmental Baseball League.
