Walkers news: August 21 -- St. Louis 3, Quad City 2

Record: 74-50, 1st, 0.5 GA Cedar Rapids
St. Louis starting pitcher Edward Kunselman ended a no-hit bid by Quad City's Pascal Marcovicci with a lead-off double in the top of the sixth inning, he later scored the game's first run to help the River Walkers end a five-game losing streak with a 3-2 win at Fenway Park (1976).
Manuel Coke drove in Kunselman with a one-out double off Marcovicci.
The Walkers added two more runs in the seventh -- Jose Gonzalez driving them both in with a single Mason Montgomery -- to go up 3-0.
The Thunder would pull to within a run, scoring twice in the bottom of the seventh.
Hector Lucero hit a solo homer off Nick Ruffalo.
Angel Solis followed that with a single.
A double by J.P. DiPero off Nick Strother moved Lucero to third.
Alex Richards scored Solis with a fly ball.
Kunselman (9-6) pitched six shut-out innings, allowing five hits
Ruffalo and Strother combined to pitch the seventh, when QC pulled to within 3-2.
Greg Sones (0.2 IP) and Scott Rissler (0.1) divided up the eighth.
Bobby Westerman allowed a pair of base runners, but no runs in the ninth for his fifth save.
