NHL Draft Talent
I think the Junior Leagues may still be producing too many NHL ready players.
I am playing a custom multiplayer game.
Per another thread, settings were adjusted at start to not look at previous years stats in order to produce enough quality players.
I have just started the 3rd season.
The Futures List currently has 10 3 star players, 20 2.5 star players, and 19 2 star players on it.
The talent level has increased significantly from last season, and that season saw significantly more talented players than my first amateur draft.
After the second season teams were still able to draft 1.5 star players in the fourth round and early fifth round, and there had been 3 3 star players on the Futures List. After the first season, 1.5 star players were only available into the third round, and there had only been 1 3 star player on the Futures List.
This has been a problem I highlighted in previous iterations of the game. This problem seems less pronounced than in previous versions, but the talent level still seems to high, doesn't it?
What should be a reasonable expectation for the number of 3 star players in any given year?
In previous versions the amateur talent would drastically decline after a few drafts, but you would then have significant salary cap issues when all the talented players contracts expired in the same couple years.
