No way to know what will happen. Players sometimes go for years not asking for the sky and then suddenly they want huge money.

By that time the farm will have not produced for several years so the roster should be full of near minimum wage players. There might be enough money left to give Bonds half the payroll!

Dennis Martinez has signed relatively cheaply for years and now suddenly wants big money. OTOH, he hasn't performed as well as I expected until recently either. Anyway unless he drops his demand a lot he's gone next year.
