August 14-16, 2043: at Minnesota (3)

Game 1: The Rays scored 4 times in the 1st and went on to a 6-4 win over the Twins at Target Field. Luis Barela was the man of the match as he hit a 3-run homer in that first (#27) and after Minnesota had pulled within 5-4, added some insurance with an RBI double in the 7th. Jimmy Leonard went back-to-back with Barela in the first for his 32nd. Greg Bookhart was handed the big early lead and nearly completely squandered it, struggling to get through at 5 8 4 4 5 6 yet improving to 8-4, 4.23. Four relievers held the fort with Freddy Zamora bouncing back from blowing the game the other day with save #12.

Game 2: Today wasn't the Rays' day as they fell 6-1 to Minnesota. They were held to only 6 hits with the sole run coming on Josh Alexander's 35th homer. Brad Jackson was hit hard for 3 homers and went 4.2 10 6 6 0 3 to drop to 12-4, 4.46.

Game 3: As they often do the game after being stifled, Rays hitters unloaded and today they whipped the Twins 13-3, banging out 17 hits. None of them left the park but none needed to with Mike Willis leading the charge, going 4-6 with a double, steal, 3 runs scored and 3 knocked in. Jimmy Leonard was 4-5 with a double and 2 RBI while Dave Frick was 3-4, also with a double and 2 RBI. Gordie Ager coasted with the run support in his first game against his old team and got his 2nd Rays win going 6.2 7 2 2 1 8.

Team record: 86-32. Next up: Back home for 4 vs Baltimore.
