Walkers news: June 9 -- St. Louis 4, Green Bay 3
Record: 34-27, 3rd, 5.5 GB Springfield
Mark Herman stroked his fourth single of the game, he went 4 for 4, and later scored the game-winning run when Green Bay right fielder Jimmy Thomas dropped a fly ball in the bottom of the ninth as St. Louis edged the Mallards 4-3 at Busch Stadium (2006).
The win allowed the River Walkers to avoid a three-game sweep,
Herman's single came off Green Bay reliever Joshua Barnett.
Nick Shaw followed Herman's hit with another single putting runners at first and second.
With one out, Zach Wenman lofted a fly ball to right which Thomas misplayed allowing Herman to score.
Both teams had their No. 1 starters on the mound -- Ernesto Tello for the Mallards, Ming Xiang for St. Louis -- but there was some early offense.
Green Bay jumped out to leads of 1-0 and 3-1.
St. Louis made it 3-2 in the third.

Xiang allowed three runs on seven hits in seven innings. He struck out seven and didn't walk a batter.
