Ditching the DSL with a Dominican League

I think I'm not the only one who prefers to get rid of the MLB Dominican plantations when I play MLB games, and now there are so many teams you can populate an entire league with them. I think I ended up with 2 teams left over when I did this... there are 50 teams in the DSL nowadays, which maps pretty well to the OOTP minor levels.

I made a 16 team rookie league, 2 affiliates per parent team.

I took a lot of shortcuts, so this didn't take too long. I didn't mess with LIDOM graphics/stadium/etc. I used the wizard with settings for the Mexican League I think so the financials wouldn't take any work. Be sure to de-select the option to create players so you just get a league shell!

Then I moved 8 random DSL teams into the LIDOM and deleted the fake teams the wizard made. I set the league to make 100% Dominican players, and set it to allow only 4 foreigners per side.

Then I created the minor league levels one at a time. Again be sure to de-select the option to create players! Then I delete all the fake teams but one, move 8 more DSL teams over, delete the last fake team (in other versions the game will automatically delete an empty league), and then randomize the cities and names and tell the game to find logos.

Rinse and repeat. At the end I change the MLB player creation settings so they don't sign Dominican players as kids any more, or at least a much lower percentage.

I used to just delete the DSL entirely, or just unaffiliate it with the majors, but I'm curious to see how this works out over time. I was amazed to discover the other day that there are 2000+ Dominicans in the standard MLB setup, not even counting international/indy leagues. They could have one heck of a league over there, and thanks to OOTP it will make an interesting experiment!
