Sean Gilley worked six shutout innings and the Quad City bullpen didn't allow St. Louis to score until the ninth inning as the Thunder downed the River Walkers 5-2 at Fenway Park (1976).
Gilley (1-3) allowed just two singles in his time on the mound. He struck out six and walked one.
Aaron Boncek worked a scoreless seventh innings and Corey York did the same in the eighth.
York also got the first two outs of the ninth before giving way to Chris David, who gave up a two-run homer to Nick Shaw, which made the score 5-2.
Angelo Touliatos came on with the bases loaded and struck out Ryan Wibbenmeyer to end the game and earn his 15th save.
The Thunder jumped in front in the bottom of the first against St. Louis starting pitcher Xiang Ming.
Collin Allen doubled with two outs and scored on a Paul Totten single.
QC added its second run in the fourth.
Fontana Felitti opened the inning with a lead-off walk from Xiang.
A passed ball by catcher Zach Wenman would move him to second.
T.J. Latham drove Felitti home with a single.
All the rest of the Thunder's scoring came in the sixth.
Xiang was still on the mound and allowed three of the first four batters to reach base.
The third hit, a Keith Reiter single, plated the inning's first run.
Brett McVey then replaced Xiang only to be greeted by a two-run double by Allen.
