As to your question, this is not football manager so I don't think you have to know a lot about tactics to be successful...I make the playoffs with an expansion team most if not all years and I keep it pretty simple:

- I constantly am looking to acquire players that allow me to to do the following with players in their primary roles and positions:

- Have a playmaker on each of the top 3 lines to feed a scorer.

- Have an offensive minded/two way defenseman and pair him with a stay at home defenseman on lines 1 and/or 2 and use two stay at home/old School on lines 2 and/or 3 based on if need to be more defensive based on personnel and tactic.

- Choose a tactic that matches the personnel (using the information is in the description of the tactic).

Additionally:

- I have read a lot about not changing a tactic too much but if I lose a few games in a row, I will and it usually helps.

- I usually have AI assign lines and roles and then I adjust from there. Once done, I do try to keep lines together to build chemistry.

I know some players delve much deeper into tactics but, like I said, I keep it that basic and tend to do well.

This is helpful renojedi! I'm doing a few of the things above so good to know I've got some of it right, but your other points are really helpful.

Appreciate it!
